Stuff I Like Or Love: Ring Molds

by brittany on November 15, 2012

This photo shows all of my ring molds.  Six.  I own six, which is just enough to make about half a recipe of anything.  I’m not complaining, though, because these shiny circles are so sturdy, well-made, and allow me to make jammers.

We bought these ring molds at E. Dehillerin in Paris, and at 19.70 euros for a half-dozen, we limited ourself to this meagre quantity.  I love bringing home food-related souvenirs, and these are especially exciting to me, mainly because they’re absurdly difficult to find online in the US.  Even though I have to make my treats by the half-batch, I’m quite happy.  Now we have a goal to visit Paris again to pick up another six.

If you find something similar, get them.  You can make tart-like cookies, or various layered fancy savories.  Mine are 3″ in diameter.

I love, love these! Can they be ordered from this store or is a trip to Paris a must? Thank you for sharing your picture. Pat

Here are a few options I found online for similar sizes (not from that particular store–it looks like they only sell pots and pans online):

And this is a little bigger:

They’re spendy no matter where you buy them, but I’m sure they’re totally worth the trip to Paris. Actually, since we can’t all hop over to Paris anytime we want specialty equipment, we’ve asked friends to pick up things for us on their travels (canele molds, for one). Good luck.

P.S. Back when I was looking for these, I couldn’t find any that were the right size online. Now, it sure looks much easier.
