October 20, 2015

Oregon ArtsWatch posted the above photo (by Sabina Poole) along with several other studio pets in a piece called There’s a Dog in My Studio.  Sabina visited last year to photograph me in Michael’s and my shared studio space.  Come to think of it, Gretta’s the only one of us who has a bed in […]

Aaaaaauuuugggghhhhh I’m On Local TV (Cringe)

May 5, 2015

Ok, so I mentioned my Cell Phone Photo Paintings:  FREE project.  Well, yesterday (my first day, when I was just working out my spiel) a very sweet reporter from KGW came and interviewed me at the installation space.  She filmed me painting–no pressure–and also chatted with some of the people who came to see the […]

May 3, 2015

For the month of May, I’ll be doing this thing called Cell Phone Photo Paintings:  FREE at the Portland Building Installation Space. April 22, 2015

You may remember this diorama I recently made to commemorate Tonya Harding’s famous triple axel (she was the first U.S. woman to complete the jump in competition).  Coincidentally, a couple of New Yorkers decided to open their front hallway as The Tonya Harding & Nancy Kerrigan 1994 Museum, housing artifacts from the scandal as well as […]

Today begins my new deal.  There’s a new website (illustratedvacation.com), a new name (Illustrated Vacation), and a new plan (I’ll illustrate your vacation).  This all began when I lost our camera in Panama and decided to paint our vacation photos from memory.  Now, I’m painting custom watercolor snapshots of your vacations.

We don’t even have a real coffee table, but now we have a coffee table book.  This volume, called High Touch, is published by Gestalten and showcases “cutting-edge tactile design” (their words, not mine).  My Sandwich Artist series, which I created for Low-Commitment Projects, proudly graces pages 150-151.
